When is Vaisakhi and what does it celebrate? – Birmingham Mail

Vaisakhi is an annual celebration of the founding of the Sikh religion as a collective faith.

It’s held on April 13 each year.

The date is the anniversary of the founding of the Khalsa in 1699.

The Khalsa is the name for the Sikh order or community into which all followers of the religion are baptised or initiated.
